This year’s spring fashions are bold, electric

Though it may not seem like it outside, spring is here! This means it is time to shop for a new wardrobe to keep you looking trendy throughout the season.

Women

The most popular color for this spring is electric blue. Not sure what that looks like? Just think neon – think ‘80s. Hot pink, lime green and bright yellow (yes like the highlighter), are also very popular colors for ladies this season.

Female shoppers can expect to see a lot of safari-influenced apparel in stores right now.

Safari brings thoughts of animals, right? Exactly! Just when you thought you were going to get away from it, the trend has made a strong comeback for spring 2008. Animal print shirts, skirts and khaki colored dresses with large “safari guide-like” pockets will surely keep you looking trendy. Floral prints are also in season.

Men

Guys on the other hand have it pretty easy this spring. Gray was the “in” color for the fall, but it’s probable that designers liked it so much it trickled into spring’s fashions, too. Stripes are also trendy for gentlemen this season, as are aviator sunglasses.

Furthermore, loosely fitting button-down shirts – called laundered shirts – are also hot right now. They come in varying colors, but it seems pink is a top pick lately, disregarding the notion that pink is only for women.

Getting the look

Now that we have covered the basics, it is time to create some awesome looks using spring 2008 fashion trends.

Ladies, do you want all eyes on you at the next party you arrive at? This is no problem when rocking the colors of the season. You can go all-out by wearing a hot pink top and perhaps some electric blue pencil jeans. Or, if you are the more reserved type, think of wearing fewer bright colors, but wear neon accessories to keep in theme. A simple black T-shirt, jeans and a few brightly colored bangles will look great.

As for you guys, are you trying to impress that special lady in your life, or just want to look good for the heck of it? Creating an ensemble is simple.

Throw on a pair of nice jeans, a laundered shirt and aviator glasses. For a chilly day, wear a lightweight gray bomber jacket and you will be good to go.

Do remember that, just because it may be snowing outside, that doesn’t mean April showers and May flowers won’t come eventually. So, keep these tips and trends in mind and have fun when shopping for your apparel this spring!
